Over 40 Categories Set to Shine at 2025 NPM Awards

Excitement is building as the 2025 National Product Magazine (NPM) Year-End Awards move closer, following the close of public voting. The prestigious gala, scheduled for December 14 at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC), is expected to be a grand celebration of Malawi’s most outstanding brands and innovators.

With more than 40 categories across manufacturing, technology, food processing, agriculture, real estate, tourism, transport and banking, this year’s edition promises to be the most competitive yet. Headlining honours include Exporter of the Year, Manufacturer of the Year, Business Reporter of the Year and the coveted Service Excellence Award.

NBS Bank stands out among nominees, securing three nominations for its exceptional performance across the sector.

Held under the theme “Where Innovation Meets Distinction: Celebrating Excellence and Service Across Industries,” the gala will feature an industry exhibition and product showcase, followed by a glamorous red carpet session. Attendees are being encouraged to bring their fashion A-game, with four outstanding guests set to be recognised in a special Best-Dressed segment.

This year’s ceremony also marks a major milestone — the 120th edition of National Product Magazine.

Entertainment on the night will be headlined by celebrated artist Lulu alongside vibrant traditional dance groups, promising a memorable night of culture, spectacle and celebration.

According to Ministry of Industrialisation, Business, Trade and Tourism spokesperson Patrick Botha, the awards come at a time when the government is reinforcing industrialisation as a key economic pillar. He emphasised that collaboration with an innovative private sector is crucial for expanding industries and boosting exports.

Among the shortlisted companies, Easy Pack Limited is in the running for both Best Manufacturer and Best Innovative awards. Quality assurance manager Elia Elias said the nominations affirm the team’s unwavering commitment and passion.

Le Home Furniture managing director Lefunati Tambala, nominated again in the Interior and Decoration category, said the recognition reflects the trust Malawians have in their brand. “You cannot get nominated if you aren’t delivering,” she said.
